2. Access to the Website
The Website is available free of charge to any user with internet access. The Website may be used by any individual acting for personal purposes and not in a professional capacity. Minor users are not permitted to use the Website.
3. Placing Orders on the Website
When products are available for sale, the user places their order online on the Website, from the online catalogue and using the form provided therein, subject to available stock.
The creation of a customer account is not mandatory. The terms and conditions for placing and confirming orders are detailed in ALTO's General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
3. Website Availability
The Website is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; however, ALTO cannot be held liable if the Website is inaccessible. Indeed, ALTO reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, interrupt or cancel access to the Website.
The user of this Website acknowledges having the necessary skills and means to access and use the Website. The user also acknowledges having verified that the computer system used does not contain any viruses and is in perfect working order.
ALTO endeavours, to the extent possible, to ensure the Website is compatible with the majority of internet browsers and mobile operating systems. Any total or partial incompatibility between the user's internet browser and/or mobile operating system and the websites and applications published by ALTO shall not engage ALTO's liability. In any event, it is the user's responsibility to update their internet browser.
ALTO cannot under any circumstances be held liable for any damage that may be suffered by any equipment (computer, software, etc.) used to access and use the Website.

5. Other Online Connections: Hyperlinks
The Website provides hyperlinks giving access to websites published by third parties. However, ALTO cannot under any circumstances be held liable for the content of such websites, for any damage that may result from connecting to those websites, for the information contained therein, or for any transactions that may be carried out thereon, ALTO bearing sole responsibility for its own actions.
The creation of hyperlinks to the Website must be expressly authorised in advance by the Director of Publication or their representative.
ALTO is not responsible for content generated by users on the Website and disclaims all liability with respect to the content of websites to which hyperlinks lead. The establishment of hyperlinks by users to pages or documents published on the internet is permitted, provided that such links do not contravene ALTO's interests or applicable regulations, and that they guarantee ALTO's ability to identify the origin and author of the document.
6. Cookies
"Cookies" may be placed on the equipment of Website users. A cookie does not allow ALTO to identify users. The user may object to the recording of "cookies" by configuring their browser accordingly.
7. User Obligations
The user must ensure the compatibility of their technical environment with the Website. Furthermore, the user is required to perform regular backups of data relevant to their activities and of information recorded during the use of the Website.
Access codes, identifiers, logins, and passwords used and/or communicated to the user are personal, confidential, and non-transferable. The use of these identification elements is the sole responsibility of the user. The user (i) undertakes not to transmit or communicate these elements to unauthorised third parties, (ii) undertakes to notify ALTO in writing without delay in the event of loss or theft of these elements.
The user undertakes to inform ALTO promptly and in writing of any change to their personal information and/or any change that has or may have an impact on the scope of the user licence granted.
The user undertakes to:
- Not publish, transmit or disseminate any harmful, obscene, defamatory or unlawful information either on or through the Website;
- Not copy-paste or reproduce, whether partially or in full, on any medium or by any method whatsoever, for collective use, any elements appearing on the Website, including in particular logos, texts, layouts, visuals, photographs, graphics, icons, diagrams, photographs, without the prior written consent of ALTO;
- Not use any software, "routine" or device to interfere with or attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the Website, whether manually or electronically, by any means whatsoever, including in particular downloading or making accessible files containing corrupted data or viruses;
- Not degrade, alter or modify the graphical appearance of the Website or the software codes constituting it;
- Not take any action likely to generate unreasonable or disproportionate traffic on the Website;
- Not obtain or attempt to obtain unauthorised access to any of ALTO's networks, by any means whatsoever.
8. Liability
The information on the Website is not contractually binding, with the exception of product descriptions sold on the Website, and shall not engage ALTO's liability. ALTO reserves the right to modify, update, correct or delete all or part of the Website's content at any time and without notice. ALTO disclaims all liability for any error or omission regarding the content of the Website's pages, as well as for any interruption or unavailability of the Website for any reason whatsoever.
ALTO disclaims all liability for any direct and indirect damages resulting from fraudulent intrusion by a third party that has led to the modification of information made available on the Website.
ALTO reserves the right to suspend or revoke a user account if the user account:
- Damages its image
- Does not meet security requirements
- Does not hold the legal and regulatory authorisations relating to the activity
- Fails to comply with the obligations set out in these GTU
9. Intellectual Property
All elements of the Website, including in particular texts, presentations, illustrations, photographs, downloadable documents, iconographic representations, trade marks (registered by ALTO or potentially by one of its partners), site structures and layouts are the exclusive intellectual property of ALTO or its partners.
As such, their partial or total representation, reproduction, embedding, distribution and redistribution are prohibited pursuant to the provisions of Article L. 122-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code.
Furthermore, the partial or total representation, reproduction, embedding, distribution and redistribution of the database contained in this Website are prohibited pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 98-536 of 1 July 1998 on the legal protection of databases.
Only a right of use, to the exclusion of any transfer of ownership of any kind, for the scope declared and accepted by ALTO, is granted to the user. Only reproduction and representation of the content as authorised by the Intellectual Property Code on a screen for strictly personal use are therefore permitted. Furthermore, the user undertakes not to reconstruct the database(s), not to redistribute the content for any reason whatsoever, and more generally not to infringe, directly or indirectly or through third parties, in any manner whatsoever, ALTO's rights.
The user grants ALTO a licence of use over the data transmitted in the context of the use of the Website.
ALTO reserves the right to carry out, through any authorised agent, any verification it deems necessary, at the user's expense if a breach is found, in order to verify that the GTU and the agreed scope are complied with.
10. General Provisions
The GTU and legal notice are available on the Website and may be amended at any time at ALTO's discretion without any other formality than their online publication. Only the latest version shall be applicable.
Failure to assert or acquiescence in the non-performance of any provision of the GTU, whether permanently or temporarily, shall not be construed as a waiver of that right.
Should any provision of the GTU be declared null and void, it shall be deemed unwritten but shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of the GTU.
Any queries relating to the GTU or requests for information must be sent by post to ALTO – Legal Department – 53, Avenue Montaigne, 75008 Paris. ALTO will make its best efforts to respond to any queries as promptly as possible.
11. Applicable Law
This Website has been designed and is managed in compliance with French law. The language of these GTU and legal notice is French. In the event of any contradiction between the French version and any other version, the French provisions shall prevail. Any dispute relating to this Website or arising from its use shall be settled by the French courts.
